At Indigo Counseling, we provide comprehensive Immigration Psychological Evaluations for individuals and legal professionals throughout the United States using a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. In-office appointments are also available for local clients.
Rosa Chavez, LPC, conducts thorough, clinically grounded evaluations for individuals navigating the immigration process. Each assessment carefully considers psychological, emotional, cultural, and relational factors that may be relevant to your case. Evaluations are conducted with a trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach, prioritizing both accuracy and sensitivity.

When clinically appropriate, collateral interviews may be included with family members, partners, or others familiar with your circumstances to ensure a thorough and accurate evaluation.

Types of Immigration Evaluations We Provide
Extreme Hardship Waiver Evaluations (I-601 & I-601A): Used to show that a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident would experience extreme hardship if separated from the applicant.
U-Visa Psychological Evaluations: For victims of crime who suffered substantial emotional or mental harm and are cooperating with law enforcement.
VAWA Mental Health Evaluations (I-360): For individuals who experienced battery or extreme cruelty by a U.S. citizen or LPR spouse, parent, or adult child.
Asylum & Withholding of Removal Evaluations: For individuals fleeing persecution, torture, or credible fear of harm in their country of origin.
What to Expect (Before & During Your Evaluation)
Before the First Session, Clients complete:
A brief background questionnaire
Consent for services
Release of information (to coordinate with your attorney)
A $250 deposit to secure your appointment
Session Structure
Session 1 – Clinical Interview & Testing (3–4 Hours)
Conducted virtually or in person.
Includes diagnostic assessments, trauma screening, and a comprehensive clinical interview.
This may occur in one visit or over two days, depending on the client’s needs.
Session 2 – Follow-Up (If Needed)
A shorter follow-up session (~1 hour) may be scheduled for additional testing or clarification based on case complexity.
Final Evaluation Report
Your final evaluation will:
Integrate your clinical history, trauma symptoms, family context, medical factors, and psychosocial stressors
Use evidence-based psychological instruments
Provide diagnoses (when clinically appropriate)
Offer recommendations or mental health referrals
Be formatted according to USCIS and attorney standards
Standard completion: 14–25 business days.

Payment Plans
Payment plans are available with an active credit card on file.
Typical structure:
$250 deposit to hold your appointment
$500 due at the first session
The remaining balance is due before the final evaluation draft is released
HSAs, credit cards, cashier’s checks, and cash accepted.

Cancellation & Late Arrival Policy
To protect appointment availability:
72-hour cancellation policy
Late cancellation (under 48 hours): $250 fee
No-show: $250 fee
Arriving 30+ minutes late requires rescheduling and incurs a $250 late fee
The card on file will be charged as outlined in your consent forms.
